You will need to reconfigure your email account after it has been migrated to Office 365. 

 

 

Mail for iOS

You will need to remove and set up your email account again if you use Mail for iOS.
If you are setting up your email for the first time, please skip steps 4-6.

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Mail
  3. Tap Accounts
  4. Tap your UQ account
  5. Tap Delete Account
  6. Tap Delete from my iPhone
  7. Tap Add Account
  8. Tap Exchange
  9. Enter your UQ username followed by @uq.edu.au into the Email field (e.g. uqjcitiz@uq.edu.au)
  10. Enter a description. This can be anything you like.
  11. Tap Next
  12. Enter your UQ password and tap Next
  13. Tap Save

Outlook for iOS

You will need to remove and set up your email account again if you use Outlook for iOS.
If you are setting up your email for the first time, please skip steps 2 and 3.

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Tap Log-in

 

  1. Tap the Trash icon and remove your account.

 

  1. Enter your UQ username followed by @uq.edu.au into the field as shown, then tap Add Account.
     

Your username details should populate automatically on the next screen.

  1. Enter your UQ password and tap Sign in.

Gmail for Android

You will need to remove and set up your email account again if you use Gmail for Android.
If you are setting up your email for the first time, please skip to step 11.

  1. Open Gmail
  2. Tap the back arrow

 

  1. Tap the Settings (cog icon)
  2. Tap the icon with 3 dots and select Manage Accounts
  3. Tap Continue
  4. Tap Accounts or Cloud and Accounts
  5. Tap Exchange
  6. Tap your account
  7. Tap the icon with 3 dots 
  8. Tap Remove account

 

  1. Open Gmail
  2. Tap the menu icon
  3. Tap the up arrow
  4. Tap Add Account
  5. Tap Exchange and Office 365
  6. Enter your UQ username followed by @uq.edu.au into the email address field as shown, then tap Next

 

  1. Enter your UQ password and tap Next

 

  1. Tap OK

 

  1. Tap Activate

Outlook for Android

You will need to remove and set up your email account again if you use Outlook for Android.
If you are setting up your email for the first time, please skip steps 2-4.

  1. Open Outlook

 

  1. Tap OK
  2. Tap the Settings (cog) icon and select your account
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Tap Add Account
  5. Tap Add Email Account
  6. Enter your username followed by @uq.edu.au and tap Continue
  7. Enter your UQ password on the page below and tap Sign-in.

Mail for Android

If you are still having problems after going through the below process, delete the account completely and start again.
When you first open Mail after your email account has been migrated, your email will not sync. 

  1. Tap the menu icon
  2. Tap the cog icon
  3. Tap your account
  4. Scroll to bottom of screen and tap Exchange Server Settings
  5. Re-enter password, check that the Exchange server is outlook.office365.com then tap Done.

 

 

 

Mail for Mac

You will need to remove and set up your email account again if you use Mail for MacOS.
If you are setting up your email for the first time, please skip to step 5.

  1. Click the Apple menu 
  2. Click System Preferences...
  3. Click Internet Accounts
  4. Select your account and click the minus (-) icon to remove it
  5. Open Mail
  6. Select Exchange and click Continue
  7. Enter the following as shown, then click Sign In:

Name: Your Name
Email Address: Your UQ username followed by @uq.edu.au
Password: Your UQ password

  1. Tick any other apps you wish to use with your account, then click Done.

Outlook 2016 for Mac

When you first open Outlook after your account has been migrated, two prompts will appear as shown.
On the first prompt, tick Always use my response for this server and click Allow.
On the second prompt, click No.

Click the Outlook menu and click Preferences...



Click Accounts



Select your account and type your UQ username followed by @uq.edu.au into the User name field as shown, then press Enter.



Close the Accounts menu and an Account Information prompt will appear.
Enter your UQ password 
Tick Remember this password in my keychain and click OK.

Enter your UQ password again and click Sign in.

 

Outlook 2013 for Windows 7

When you first open Outlook after your account has been migrated, the below prompt will appear.
Tick Don't ask me about this website again and click Allow.

Ensure your username is entered in the form <username>@uq.edu.au as shown, then enter your UQ password.

A prompt will appear asking you to close and restart Outlook. Click OK, then close and reopen Outlook.



Another prompt will appear. Ensure your username is entered in the form <username>@uq.edu.au
Type your UQ password
Tick Remember my credentials and click OK.

Outlook 2013 for Windows 10

When you first open Outlook after your account has been migrated, a login prompt will appear.
Enter your UQ username in the form <username>@uq.edu.au followed by your UQ password.
Tick Remember my credentials and click OK.

A prompt will appear asking you to close and restart Outlook. Click OK, then close and reopen Outlook.

Outlook 2016 for Windows 7

When you first open Outlook after your account has been migrated, a login prompt will appear.
Enter your UQ username in the form <username>@uq.edu.au followed by your UQ password.
Tick Remember my credentials and click OK.

Confirm Outlook is reconnected to your email by checking the status on the bottom of the Outlook window. The status will display Connected to: Microsoft Exchange.

 

 

Outlook 2016 for Windows 10

When you first open Outlook after your account has been migrated, a login prompt will appear.
Enter your UQ username in the form <username>@uq.edu.au followed by your UQ password.
Tick Remember my credentials and click OK.

Confirm Outlook is reconnected to your email by checking the status on the bottom of the Outlook window. The status will display Connected to: Microsoft Exchange.
