Lecturers who have been associated with one or more UQ courses within Echo360 are able to edit completed lecture recordings, so as to remove unwanted segments of video or audio. You will know if you are associated with a UQ course, as you will receive email notifications when lecture recordings become available for viewing. If you do not recieve these email notifications, please send a help request through to help@its.uq.edu.au.

Please follow these instructions to edit an existing Echo360 recording.

  1. Visit https://echo360.recordings.uq.edu.au:8443/ess and log in to Echo360 with your UQ credentials.
  2. Select the title of the recording you wish to edit.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page for this recording, then select Edit Media. This will open a new window, which may take some time to load. Please be patient.

  4. Use the editing tools to make changes to your lecture recording.
    • The markers at the beginning and end of the timeline allow you to easily crop unwanted content from the start and end of your lecture recording.
    • Remove segments from within your lecture recording by marking the cut points with the cut markers, then selecting the Scissors icon to cut the marked segment from your recording.

  5. Once you have finished editing your lecture recording, select the Save tab.
  6. Select Process Edits to save the changes you have made to your recording. Your recording will be re-processed and become available for viewing within a few hours.
    • Please note that the Save Edits option does not make changes to your recording - it only saves the editing work you have done so that you may continue editing at a later time.
