If you are experiencing issues with Outlook, the following steps will help make your Outlook run efficiently.

Cached Exchange Mode enables a better experience when you use an Exchange account. In this mode, a copy of your mailbox is saved on your computer. This copy provides quick access to your data, and it is frequently updated with the server that runs Microsoft Exchange.

Turn on Cached Exchange Mode for Staff Accounts & Turn it off for all Shared Mailboxes.

  • Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

  • Click the Exchange account you want to change, and then click Change.

  • Under Offline Settings, check Use Cached Exchange Mode for Staff accounts and make sure its unchecked for Shared mailboxes.

  • Click Next. You will then get a pop up stating you need to Quit and restart Outlook, Click OK.
  • Click Finish, and then restart Outlook.

By default, 12 months of your email is available offline. If you do experience slow emails you can use the slider - just set it to 6 months.
