When prompted for your username, enter it in the format username@uq.edu.au.
For example, a student's eduroam username is s1234567@uq.edu.au, while a staff member's username is uqexampl@uq.edu.au

This guide is current for MacOS Sierra 10.12. Instructions for earlier versions of the software should vary only slightly. ITS recommends always running the latest version of your client software.


1. Connecting to eduroam


Step 1 - Turning on Wi-Fi

  • Click the 'Wi-Fi' icon
  • Click [ Turn Wi-Fi On ]


Step 2 - Connecting to Eduroam

  • Click the 'Wi-Fi' icon
  • Click [ eduroam ]


Step 3 - Login

  • Enter your username and/or password. Note: Enter your username in the format uqusername@uq.edu.au
  • Click [ Join ]

You will now be connected to eduroam. Confirm by clicking the Wi-Fi icon and there will be a tick beside eduroam.


Security Certificate 

You may also be asked to verify a certificate when connecting for the first time.

Click [ Continue ] to accept the certificate

A prompt will appear asking for your computer's password. Enter your computer's password.
