In most computer-based web browsers, press Ctrl-Shift-Delete (Windows) or Command-Shift-Delete (Mac) to open menus used to clear your cookies and cache. If this doesn't work, follow the appropriate instructions below.

If you don't see instructions below for your specific version or browser, search your browser's Help menu for "clear cache". If you're unsure what browser version you're using, from the Help menu or your browser's menu, select About [browser name]. In Internet Explorer and Firefox, if you don't see the menu bar, press Alt.

Desktop Browsers

Chrome

  1. In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Select the following:
  • Cookies and other site data
  • Cached images and files
  • Hosted app data
  • From the Clear the following items from drop-down menu, you can choose the period of time for which you want to clear cached information. To clear your entire cache, select the beginning of time.​
  1. Click Clear Browsing Data.
  2. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Firefox

  1. Click the menu icon on the top-right of the browser
  2. Click History
  3. Click Clear Recent History...
  4. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
  5. Click the arrow next to Details 
  6. Select the following:
  • Cookies
  • Cache
  • Active Logins
  1. Click Clear Now.
  2. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Gear icon on the top-right of the browser
  2. Click Internet options
  3. Click Delete... under the Browsing history section on the General tab
  4. Untick Preserve Favourites website data and tick the following:
  • Temporary Internet files and website files
  • Cookies and website data
  1. Click Delete. You will see a confirmation at the bottom of the window when the process is complete.
  2. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Edge

  1. Launch your Edge browser and click on the 3-lined Hub button in the top right corner.
  2. Click the clock-shaped History button.
  3. Click Clear History and then click Show more
  4. Select the Following:
  • Browsing history
  • Cookies and saved website data
  • Cached data and files
  • Download history
  1. Click on the Clear button.
  2. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Opera

  1. From the Opera menu, select Settings, and then Delete Private Data....
  2. In the dialog box that opens, select the items you want to clear, and then click Delete.
  3. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Safari

  1. Click the Safari menu
  2. Click Preferences...
  3. Click Privacy
  4. Click Manage Website Data...
  5. Click Remove All
  6. Click Done
  7. Quit Safari by clicking the Safari menu and click Quit Safari (or press Command + Q) and reopen the browser.

 

Mobile Browsers

Android

The steps to clear your cache, cookies, and history may differ depending on the model of your Android device and your preferred browser. However, you should be able to clear your cache and data from your application management settings menu:

  1. Go to Settings and choose Apps or Application Manager.
  2. Swipe to the All tab.
  3. In the list of installed apps, find and tap your web browser. Tap Clear Data and then Clear Cache.
  4. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Chrome for Android

  1. Tap Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Tap (Advanced) Privacy.
  3. Tap Clear browsing data.
  4. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Safari (Apple iOS)

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Safari
  3. Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm
  4. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.

Chrome for iOS

  1. Tap Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy.
  3. Choose the data type you want to clear.
  4. Tap Clear.
  5. Exit/quit all browser windows and reopen the browser.
