To hire a Polycom, you must already have an existing analogue service for it to connect to.

ITS does not hire out PABX (Landline) phones, these are only available for purchase.

1. Hiring a Polycom

There are two methods for hiring a Polycom telecoferencing unit. 

Method A - Helpline Assisted

Telephone the helpline extension 51000. The request form is completed on your behalf by the telephone helpline assistant. The financial delegate is nominated within the request form and then emailed to approve the request, via an electronic Acceptance of Quote.

Method B - Self Service

The UQ financial delegate completes the LANDesk request form themselves, as per the following instructions...

1. Click on the link: LANDesk Works Request - Hire a Polycom.

2. To expedite the processing of your request, please ensure the following fields are completed as follows:

  • Section A1: 'Contact Name' → specifying the contact person for the hire request.
  • Section B6: 'Further Instructions' → nominate the date and session time (eg. morning or afternoon session), along with any other information you may think is important.

3. Complete the remaining relevant fields in the form, noting that blue fields are mandatory (for assistance please refer to the UQ Financial Delegate User Guide).
