Note: OneDrive is not available to Students and is only available to faculties that have completed the email migration to 365, please see 365 migration project for more information.

You can install OneDrive on your device from the App Store.

First time setup

  1. Open the OneDrive app
  2. Enter your email address in the format then tap 'Go'


  1. Enter your UQ username and password then tap 'Login'


  1. You can choose to enable OneDrive for iMessage by using the instructions on-screen, or tap 'I'm ready' to continue.

WiFi only update

To avoid any unexpected mobile data charges, it is recommended that you only allow OneDrive to update offline files when it is connected to WiFi.

  1. In OneDrive, tap the 'Me' icon on the bottom-right of the screen
  2. Tap 'Settings'
  3. Turn off 'Use Mobile Network for Offline'

Share files or folders

  1. In OneDrive, press and hold the file or folder you want to share.
  2. Tap the   icon on the top of the screen
  3. Tap 'Invite People'
  4. Enter the email address(es) of the people you wish to share with
  5. Choose whether to allow editing and tap 'Add'


Upload files or folders

  1. In OneDrive, tap 'Files' on the bottom-left of the screen
  2. Tap the + icon on the top-right of the screen
  3. Tap 'Upload' then browse your device for the files or folders you wish to upload to OneDrive.

Sign out

To sign out of your OneDrive account:

  1. Tap the 'Me' icon on the bottom right of the screen
  2. Ensure the OneDrive account you wish to sign out of is selected at the top
  3. Scroll down the page and tap 'Sign out of this account' and tap 'OK' to confirm.
