WiFi at UQ
UQ has over 4,000 wireless access points deployed across all campuses.
Three WiFi services are available to students and staff at UQ.
UQ WiFi is the default wireless network for all University of Queensland campuses. It provides intuitive and secure access for all standard devices.
Use your normal UQ username and password to connect.
eduroam is available at all major Australian and international universities. It requires you to enter your username in the format of firstname.lastname@example.org when connecting.
Eduroam is a secure international roaming service for users in Higher Education. Using eduroam at UQ enables staff and students to also access their internet and email as they travel both within and outside of Australia.

Visiting staff and students of other Universities can also connect to eduroam at UQ by adding their own university domain to their username. For example, QUT visitors would use email@example.com.
Visitors to the campus can also connect to the UQ Visitor wireless network without needing a username or password.
This network provides minimal bandwidth and is only suitable for basic functions such as checking email. Visitors who require faster and more secure WiFi may be elegible for a UQ account.
